On Sunday 3 September 2017, German authorities will carry out a large planned evacuation of an area within 1.5km of Wismarer Straße, close to the campus of the Goethe University in the Westend area of Frankfurt, in order to defuse an unexploded World War 2 bomb. Avoid the area. Airport services from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) may be affected. Contact your tour provider or airline for latest information on disruptions and follow the instructions issued by local authorities if you are travelling to Frankfurt. The level of advice has not changed. Exercise normal safety precautions in Germany, and be aware of the increased threat of terrorism.
