The US Government has advised its citizens that due to ongoing threats to locations such as the Casino Du Liban in Jounieh, the US Embassy Beirut has barred any movement of US government staff to that Casino. Terrorist attacks could occur anywhere, at any time, in Lebanon. Targets could include, but are not limited to, hotels, clubs, restaurants, shopping centres, markets, outdoor recreation events and tourist areas. Security services are at a heightened state of alert and are carrying out operations to thwart attacks. If you notice a security operation is underway, immediately leave the area. The level of advice has not changed. Reconsider your need to travel to Lebanon overall. Higher levels apply in some parts of Lebanon.
